Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has refused to commit his future at the club with his contract set to expire in 12 months.

Man City are facing a huge crisis with the CAS (Court of Arbitration for Sport) processing an appeal against the club’s ban from Europe. The Citizens have allegedly breached FFP (Financial Fair Play) rules and they could face a mass exodus of players as well manager. Guardiola’s contract is set to expire next year and he is yet to commit his future at the Etihad.

“I’m incredibly excited for this part of the season, and the next one,” the Manchester City boss said. “I am incredibly satisfied to be in this club and to try to do our best.

“But I don’t want to think too far ahead. Now is not the time. I just think about today. We have a tough game away against Newcastle in the FA Cup and we have to be focused.”

Manchester City haven’t been convincing this season as Liverpool sealed their first Premier League title as Guardiola’s side lost against Chelsea. City have scored a lot of goals but they have conceded goals due to their awful defending this season. They have failed to replace Vincent Kompany and Laporte was forced off due to injury earlier this season. The team desperately needs defensive reinforcements to bounce back next season.

However, the Citizens find themselves in a much better place in the Champions League, having beaten Real Madrid 2-1 at their own backyard prior to the lockdown. It is the best shot for a trophy this season for Pep Guardiola.
