Chelsea FC are preparing to bid for PSG full-back Layvin Kurzawa as an alternative to Ben Chilwell ahead of the summer transfer window.
According to The Express, the Blues have been forced to look for Chilwell’s alternative to as a solution to their left-back conundrum. They report that it may be due to high asking price from Leicester for their talented full-back. The Foxes reportedly demand £80m for Chilwell due to his consistent performances this season under manager Brendan Rodgers.
Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur are also in the market for a left-back and they are reportedly enquiring Leicester City for the Chilwell. Lampard suspects that it would start a bidding war between top clubs and doesn’t want the Blues to get into a transfer battle. This has forced him to look for alternatives in the transfer market as the Blues desperately need defensive reinforcements.
Chelsea have enquired about 27-year-old Layvin Kurzawa and are monitoring his current situation at Paris Saint-Germain. Kurzawa’s contract is set to expire at the end of this month and he will be a quality addition on the left for the Blues. All of this for free. The 27-year-old Frenchman has scored 13 goals in 123 games for Paris in all competition since joining the club in 2015.
Chilwell recently scored Leicester’s sole goal against Watford in a 1-1 draw at Vicarage Road. These performances have certainly raised the transfer value of the player. Chelsea ran out winners against Aston Villa on Sunday with Pulisic and Giroud scoring the goals for the Blues. They host Manchester City Stamford Bridge on Thursday.
