After three months of inactivity, the Premier League returns back to the frame on Wednesday behind closed doors.

Manchester City play host to Arsenal at Etihad Stadium on Wednesday in their Matchday 28 outstanding fixture in the Premier League.

The Blues from Manchester sit below Liverpool in the Premier League ladder, however, they would want to delay Liverpool’s league triumph and possibly eye a massive turnaround [The Reds only need two wins to assure the title claim]. For that to be possible, Pep Guardiola will put his faith in the Argentinian striker, Sergio Aguero. The forward has managed to score an impressive 16 times and chip in 3 assists in 22 games.

The 32-year-old has been one of the most consistent players in England since 2011 and is the fourth highest goalscorer in the all-time goals list of the Premier League. Guardiola will be looking forward for him to step and continue his goalscoring form to keep Arsenal defence guessing.

On the other hand, is Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette. The French forward has been an important player in Mikel Arteta’s preferred eleven this season.

The 29-year-old has scored 7 goals while also assisting 3 of his teammates’ in 20 appearances this season. He has not only been scoring goals all by himself but has also played an important supporting role to teammate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who is in the golden boot race with 17 goals.

Alex Lacazette will play an important role in securing a European spot as the Gunners sit three points away in the 9th position. They do have a game in hand but face tough opposition like Liverpool, Spurs, Wolves and Leicester later on in the competition.

Sergio Aguero could keep the Gunners’ defence on strings with his scoring abilities while Alexandre Lacazette will be keen on providing his Gabonese teammate with proper service in a match that is important for both the clubs.

An important game which will mark the return of the Premier League after a three month long stint, could prove vital in keeping Arsenal’s European hopes alive while potentially preventing Liverpool from winning it the next gameweek. Gentleman, Premier League is back!
