Jesse Lingard has hailed his young teammate at Manchester United, Mason Greenwood. He also claims that he’s not sure about the preferred foot of Greenwood because the 18-year-old is ambipedal.

Greenwood has been a revelation in the Premier League for Manchester United this season. He has contributed in 16 goals (12 goals & 4 assists) this season for the Red Devils. He made his first start for United against Astana in the UEFA Europa League game and also became the club’s youngest scorer in European competition at the age of 17 years, 353 days.

“He knows the game of football, he shoots right to left foot. Still to this day I don’t know what foot he is,” Lingard told the Football Show on Sky Sports.

“He can score free-kicks with his left, take corners with his right. When he has been given the opportunity, he shows what he can do.

“It doesn’t matter about age, as long as you can perform on the day, and do the job for the team, you’ll be in the team. He is learning at a rapid rate at the moment.”

Jesse added that the youngster ‘holds his own’ in the dressing room before matches or training sessions when players get involved in banter. He also heaped praise on the 18-year-old.

“Mason, he is a cheeky chappy. He is a good lad, holds his own in the changing room and holds his banter,” Lingard added. “Mason is a very good player.”

Greenwood has been with Manchester United throughout his youth career for 13 years. He rose through the ranks of the academy and has made 40 appearances in all competitions in the past two seasons.
