According to reports, Chelsea target Nicolas Tagliafico is available for a transfer fee of just £22.4m. This price is very low as compared to Ben Chilwell, who has also been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge this upcoming transfer window.
The Blues are searching for a player to solves their left-back conundrum. They have Emerson and Alonso but both have been disappointing lately and the club wants to reinforce the position with a quality signing.
Ben Chilwell and Alex Telles are the primary targets of the club, however, Tagliafico has also been linked with a move to London. Tagliafico was linked with a move to the Premier League last summer but agreed to stay at Ajax for one more season. However, now he is available and a transfer to London could be on cards.
The reports Alex Telles agreeing to a move to PSG for €25m has made Chelsea’s transfer window a bit more difficult. Fortunately, another quality player, Ajax defender Tagliafico is available for just £22.4m. Yesterday, the Argentine full-back’s agent, Ricardo Schlieper, confirmed that an agreement for the player’s departure is in place.
“We are looking for a transfer for Tagliafico. We have agreed with Ajax that he would leave this year. After having spent two and a half seasons at the club, it’s the ideal moment,” Schlieper told Radio del Plata.
This gives the Blues a much-needed transfer boost as Tagliafico is available in the summer and will be a cheaper alternative for Chilwell. However, Lampard likes Chilwell and the Blues will prioritise him in the summer transfer window.
