Since the Pandemic crisis had affected the continuity of football leagues across the globe, some European clubs have started making plans on how to conclude the league, while notably Belgium, Netherlands and French league have abruptly put an end to their leagues.

Premier league haven’t been an exemption among those seeking for solution on how to safely get the league back in play, hereby, concluding the league as it’s suppose to, rather than voiding the league.

The Premier league board has put in place a project, which will be looking into several options conjoined with the support of players and managers on how the league can safely return. Representatives from each top flight clubs have been on deck, voicing out their thought and relaying the stand of their club and teammates.

Watford captain Troy Deeney has now kicked against the Premier League’s Project Restart plans, claiming it’s going to be a risk to restart the league when it doesn’t still feel safe to do so.
The 31-year-old forward pointed out his fear, stating that he won’t want to put his family at risk by exposing himself to the virus.

“I am not even talking about football at the moment,” Deeney told Simon Hosannah on Instagram. “I am talking about my family’s health and that is it.

“If I feel that I’m not looking after my family then I’m not going to do it. I am not going to put my family at risk.

“What are they going to do, take money off me? I’ve been broke before so it doesn’t bother me.”

He also pointed out the issue of social distancing, which would definitely be violated against the government’s advice.

“They’re talking about not playing in front of fans until 2021,” he added.

“So if it’s not safe enough for fans to be inside a stadium why should it be safe for players to be in there?

“At corners, Watford have 11 men back so you’re talking about having 18 or 19 men in a penalty area. That’s not social distancing.

“They’re the kind of questions people have been asking but we haven’t had the best answers at the moment.

“Not because people don’t want to give you the answers, it’s because they can’t give you the answers.

“The government say we can go back to work from June 1 but we can’t get a haircut until mid-July.

“We’re doing all this testing to get footballers back to work and then the NHS, care workers and the people on the front line don’t have enough tests. How do you justify that?

“I feel like they want to get us back to work so they can take more tax off you. Premier League players pay nearly £4billion in tax a year.”

Deeney also delineate his worry about a report that black men and women are almost twice as likely to die from coronavirus as white people in England and Wales, according to the Office for National Statistics.

And Deeney added: “Nothing more is in place for black people within any of the structures they are talking about.

“So when you ask that question and nobody can answer that question, why are you going to keep taking the risk?

“I am all for going back. But I am not for going back when it is not clear on how the steps are going to be made.”

With Troy Deeney’s latest revelation, will this cause a setback in the Premier league’s plan to restart the league by June 19 as it was reported?
