The Brazilian only joined the Super Eagles in 2019 for £15 million having been at Napoli where he never kicked a ball.

During the 2018/19 campaign, Vinicius enjoyed loan spells at Rio Ave and Monaco before signing for Benfica permanently.

Having player naturally as a holding midfielder, the 25-year-old scorec two goals on his debut as a striker at age 22 while playing in the Brazilian league and has since been a forward man.

Vinicius should he join the Red Devils will realistically be providing cover for Anthony Martial rather than playing as a first choice, as he has only enjoyed one prolific season under his belt.

A Bola also indicates that Premier League rivals Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also keeping a close eye on the player.
