Everton are preparing a new proposal for Southampton winger Tyler Dibling, with the teenager’s preference clear as he pushes for a move to Merseyside. Despite three rejected bids, most recently worth around £37.5 million including add-ons, the Toffees remain determined to strike a deal before the transfer deadline.

Dibling has told those close to him that his heart is set on Everton, though he remains respectful of Southampton’s stance. The Saints are holding out for closer to £50m, but with further talks planned, there is growing confidence a compromise can be reached. Everton, meanwhile, have made signing a right-winger their top priority after failed approaches for Malick Fofana and Takefusa Kubo earlier in the window.

While Everton lead the chase, they are not alone in showing interest. Tottenham Hotspur admire the 19-year-old but are currently focused on alternative targets, including Manchester City’s Savinho and Como’s Nico Paz. Crystal Palace are also monitoring developments as they prepare for Eberechi Eze’s imminent departure to Arsenal in a deal worth £67.5m.

Southampton, for their part, would prefer to keep Dibling, but manager Will Still has made it clear he will not stand in the youngster’s way if a suitable offer arrives. A sale would also strengthen the club’s position in fending off interest in other key players, with West Ham circling attacking midfielder Mateus Fernandes.

Dibling has already racked up 44 senior appearances for Southampton, scoring four goals and providing three assists. His pace, creativity, and ability to take on defenders have marked him out as one of England’s most exciting young talents. The England under-21 international has attracted Premier League attention throughout the summer, but Everton’s persistence and Dibling’s preference appear to be pushing this saga towards a conclusion.

Everton have made three bids to date: an opening £27m offer, a second worth £35m plus add-ons, and a third around £37.5m with additional clauses. With Southampton holding firm at £50m, the next proposal will be crucial in deciding whether a deal can be struck.

Author Opinion: A defining move for Everton’s window

Dibling’s desire to join Everton gives the club a clear advantage, but time is running out to reach an agreement. Securing one of the country’s brightest young wingers would be a statement signing for David Moyes and provide much-needed attacking spark. If Everton can close the gap with Southampton’s demands, this transfer could yet define their summer window.
