Geny Catamo has been attributed to links with a move to the Premier League as the likes of Aston Villa and Fulham express interest in his signatures with the 23-year-old winger from Sporting CP, according to a report from O Jogo relayed by Sport Witness, with Genoa, Udinese, and Wolverhampton Wanderers being the other suitors for the Mozambican talent.
Aston Villa, Fulham & Wolves on table to sign Geny Catamo
Unai Emery is looking to compound on his options at Villa Park after getting his hands on former Arsenal academy starlet Donyell Malen from Borussia Dortmund, and while it does seem that the Spaniard has decent depth in attacking options at Bodymoor Heath, he is looking to add more depth as he looks to bring the highly regarded 23-year-old wide forward to his disposal.
For Fulham and Marco Silva, there has been a need for more depth in the options out wide, especially following Reiss Nelson‘s injury, and while Reiss is expected to get back on the pitch soon, the West Londoners need some dynamic presence on the pitch. They are also looking at Ernest Nuamah as a probable alternative for the Sporting Lisbon man.
Alongside Villa and Fulham, another Premier League side, Wolves, are also interested in acquiring Catamo’s signatures. For Wolverhampton Wanderers, they are right in the relegation battle, and with Cunha’s future in doubt, complemented by how they miss the pace and power of Pedro Neto on the wings, there is a need for a new star at Molineux Stadium.
More than English clubs…
Beyond the English top tier, Italian duo Genoa and Udinese are also interested in Geny Catamo services. With both clubs having a successful record of developing talents, they could pursue his signatures with a bid to develop him into his potential.
Geny Catamo is not only comfortable on either flank but also is good at taking on his man and creating chances out of thin air.
However, with multiple sides interested in his signatures, it is to be seen where he ends up; does Geny Catamo choose the fame of the Premier League or the laid-back development of Serie A?
