Bayern star offered to Liverpool and Man United ahead of summer exit; Barcelona and Real Madrid could also be among contention

Intermediaries are actively sounding out Premier League clubs over a potential move for Alphonso Davies, with Liverpool and Manchester United among those being approached about signing the Bayern Munich left-back this summer.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, talks are already underway as the 25-year-old Canadian international’s situation at the Allianz Arena comes under increasing scrutiny.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have also been alerted, but the primary focus from those pushing the deal appears to be on English clubs.

Davies recently signed a new contract with Bayern Munich, which makes this development all the more intriguing given that new contract do is not generally a sign of a possible exit.

Davies arrived at Bayern from Vancouver Whitecaps in January 2019 as a promising winger and transformed himself into one of the best left-backs in the Bundesliga.

His athleticism, crossing ability, and pace in behind make him a genuinely exciting option when fit. That last part is the caveat that potential suitors will need to consider carefully. He has managed just 526 minutes across 13 appearances this season, with fitness issues limiting his involvement significantly over the past 18 months.

That injury record adds a layer of risk to any move, particularly for clubs considering him as a long-term solution at left-back rather than a short-term option. The quality is not in doubt. The question is whether he can stay on the pitch consistently enough to justify the investment required to prise him away from a club that has just handed him a new deal.

At Liverpool, Andrew Robertson is in the final six months of his contract, and his future at Anfield remains uncertain.

Milos Kerkez has had an inconsistent debut season on Merseyside, and the club will be conscious of the need to have two reliable options at every position in a squad competing across multiple fronts.

Davies, when fit, would represent a significant upgrade on what Liverpool currently have available at left-back.

Manchester United’s situation is slightly different but equally pressing. Luke Shaw’s fitness record will continue to be a concern espeically with with United expected to compete in four competitions next season. This is where relying on a player who cannot stay fit over a long campaign is a gamble Michael Carrick will want to avoid.

Patrick Dorgu is another option but he has been transitioning into a wider attacking role off  late, which would leave a gap at left-back that Davies could fill. It makes sense on paper, provided the fitness concerns can be managed.

While the intermediaries appear to be prioritising Premier League interest, Real Madrid’s history with Davies cannot be ignored.

Los Blancos were heavily linked with the Canadian international before his new contract at Bayern, and they could yet re-enter the picture if his exit from Munich starts to look more concrete.

Davies winning the Champions League is a stated ambition, and Real Madrid can offer that platform in a way that neither Liverpool nor Manchester United can guarantee right now.

For Liverpool and United, the race will be to move quickly and make a compelling sporting case before interest from the continent becomes a genuine obstacle.

Davies is 25, still in the prime years of a top-level career, and capable of being one of the best left-backs in the Premier League if he can stay fit. Both clubs know what a signing of that quality would mean. The coming months will reveal whether either of them is willing to take the chance.
