Axel Disasi could be on the move again this summer, with Newcastle United, Wolves and Bournemouth all showing interest in the Chelsea defender. The Frenchman is valued at around £30 million, though the Blues may have to accept a loan deal if no permanent offers materialise before the transfer deadline.

Disasi spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, making ten appearances in all competitions, but the Midlands club opted against signing him permanently. With Renato Veiga already sold to Villarreal, Chelsea are now seeking a solution for Disasi as part of their ongoing squad clear-out under Enzo Maresca.

According to Caught Offside, the three Premier League clubs interested face competition from abroad, with Serie A champions Napoli also considering a move. Chelsea are holding out for close to £30m, but whether any club reaches that figure remains uncertain. Newcastle were linked with Disasi earlier in the summer, Wolves see him as a potential reinforcement, and Bournemouth have now joined the race.

Chelsea are open to flexibility, and with time running out in the window, a loan could be accepted if no permanent agreement is struck. Disasi’s contract at Stamford Bridge and his standing as a France international still give him market value, though Chelsea are prioritising trimming wages as well as raising transfer funds.

Disasi joined Chelsea from Monaco for £39m and had an encouraging debut season under Mauricio Pochettino. However, his role diminished quickly under Maresca, who has reshaped the squad and pushed several defenders toward the exit door. The Blues are keen to recoup as much of their original outlay as possible, though shifting multiple high-profile players remains a challenge.

The 27-year-old is part of a wider group of players Chelsea are attempting to move on, alongside Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell. Outgoings are crucial to paving the way for new arrivals, including long-term targets Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho.

Author Opinion: A decisive week ahead

Disasi’s situation is emblematic of Chelsea’s transfer strategy—clear out squad players quickly to free space and funds. Interest from three Premier League sides and Napoli ensures options are on the table, but Chelsea may need to compromise on price to secure a deal. With the deadline looming, this could be a late-window move to watch closely.
