Elias Jelert, currently with Galatasaray, has emerged as a key right-back target for Everton ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. The 21-year-old Danish defender, formerly of FC Copenhagen, joined the Turkish giants last summer and has impressed despite not being a consistent starter.

A report from Yenicag Gazetesi claims Everton have already made a formal offer for Jelert, with Galatasaray valuing him at around €9 million.

While he has logged under 1,500 minutes across 33 appearances this season, Jelert’s performances have caught the attention of several La Liga clubs — but Everton are keen to beat them to the punch.

A product of Virum-Sorgenfri Boldklub and later FC Copenhagen, Jelert rose through the ranks in Denmark before earning a move to Galatasaray in 2023. Though not a regular starter, he’s shown glimpses of top-level potential — combining attacking width with positional awareness in transition.

He’s notched one goal this season and has demonstrated composure in high-pressure fixtures, despite limited minutes.

With Ashley Young set to leave, Seamus Coleman nearing the end of his career, and Nathan Patterson repeatedly sidelined with injury, Everton are desperate to refresh their right-back options. Jelert’s age, profile, and price tag make him an attractive solution.

He joins a shortlist that also includes Georgios Vagiannidis, though Jelert is now emerging as a realistic and attainable option.

The club is hoping to complete the deal early, especially given growing Spanish interest in the young Dane.

Author Opinion

Elias Jelert might not be a headline-grabbing name, but he fits Everton’s current needs perfectly — young, athletic, tactically disciplined, and available at a manageable cost. As the Toffees begin reshaping their defence, this move could be one of the smarter pieces of business this summer.
