We are halfway through the 2024/25 Premier League season, and what a blockbuster season it has been. From the dramatic collapse of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City to the early-season sacking of Erik Ten Hag at Man United, there’s been no shortage of drama and lots of talking points. A few players have stood out this season, from defense to attack. Here are the Premier League’s top five performing players this season (2024/25):
Antonee Robinson
The 27-year-old Fulham left-back has been a standout performer for Marco Silva this season. His seven assists from the left-back position have been a critical factor in Fulham’s overall performance. The American has created 24 chances, 4 big chances for his teammates, and boasts an average of 1.3 key passes per game. Antonee Robinson also excels in the defensive part of his game, winning 61.8% of his attempted tackles and 60.6% of his aerial duels.
Chris Wood
The New Zealander has been scoring for fun in the ongoing 2024/25 campaign as he has inspired Nuno Esprito Santo’s side to third position in the Premier League. He is not only a physical presence upfront, he is a clinical one as well after having scored 12 goals in the English top tier. Wood has been an exciting presence, be it in being on the end ball or taking defenders off others to create space for the wingers and midfielders. Moreover, he is also a grinding presence who will road-run on the defensive side of games as much.
Bukayo Saka
Despite being only 24-years-old, Bukayo Saka has been the key cog in Arsenal‘s attacking dynamics. He has registered 15 goal contributions for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal this season with 10 assists and 5 goals. Much of Arsenal’s attack has flowed from Bukayo Saka’s right wing, showcasing his telepathic connection with club captain Odegaard. What also makes Saka outstanding is his willingness and work ethic without the ball, often dropping back as a right-back when Arsenal fall into a defensive block.
Cole Palmer
Cole Palmer has picked up from where he left off last season, cementing his status as an elite Premier League player. The 22-year-old Englishman has been phenomenal for Chelsea this season with a total of 19 goal contributions in the Premier League. His 13 goals and 6 assists have been a major reason why Chelsea are firmly in contention for Champions League places and within touching distance of the league leaders. Palmer has created 57 chances this season with an impressive average of 2.9 key passes per game and is still on track to match his record from last season.
Mohamed Salah
Mo Salah is having an all-time great season and has undoubtedly been the Premier League’s most consistent and best player this season. The stats speak for themselves as the Egyptian king has a total of 31 goal contributions in the Premier League for Liverpool this season, with 18 goals and 13 assists. Mohamed Salah has recorded a goal or an assist in his last 12 Premier League matches for Liverpool. Arne Slot has also unlocked the creative aspect of Salah’s game, with an average of 2.0 key passes per game while retaining his ruthlessness in front of goal.
