Jadon Sancho has endured a roller coaster of time at Manchester United with the majority of them being the lows of life at Old Trafford. He has been linked with a move away from Erik ten Hag’s side as the Dutch manager decided to leave the former Borussia Dortmund UEFA Champions League finalist out of the squad in the Premier League opener against Fulham.
The England international has already had a public debate with the former Ajax manager which eventually led to his Dortmund return and following his explosive return to form in Bundesliga, he returned back to Cobham with renewed hope as he trained with the Man United’s first team in July for the first time following an extended absence away from the club since the defeat against Arsenal in September 2023.
Jadon Sancho uncertain future at Manchester United
While many thought he will have his opportunity to rejuvenate his career at Old Trafford, the Englishman was left out of the squad against Fulham earlier today with Brazilian ace Antony being selected ahead of Sancho and United’s boss was questioned about Sancho’s absence from the squad in his post-match press conference where 54-year-old said: “First of all we need squad depth, this season will be survival of the fittest, I can only put 20 players in the squad. Then Jadon in the week had an ear infection, he was not 100 per cent fit.
“He could play but we make the choice, we preferred others on bench. But that can change. It will change. We can’t play everyone the same, you see today how important the subs are.
“Sometimes frustrating for the player, but it’s about team, club, there will be more players in this position, we expect them to fight for the club.”

While there is a high possibility that his absence could be because of his ear infection, it does open potential truth to his rumours about a potential Man United exit.
Juventus have been readying a potential bid to sign Sancho this summer, who already has established links with a move to the turin-based club this summer.
Even a potential loan move would open up the wage structure at Old Trafford, providing Manchester United with additional flexibility in managing their financial commitments. As the 2024 summer transfer window approaches its closing stages, both Jadon Sancho and Manchester United football club face crucial decisions that will impact his future and the team’s composition for the season ahead. The coming days will be instrumental in determining whether Sancho remains at Old Trafford or embarks on a new chapter in his career.
