After a convincing season, Brentford goalkeeper David Raya has gained concrete interest from the likes of Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur.

To say the least, the Spaniard has been brilliant between the woodworks and has been instrumental in Brentford’s 9th place finish in the Premier League. Raya had 12 clean sheets this season and finished only behind the likes of David De Gea (17), Alisson Becker, Nick Pope, and Aaron Ramsdale (all three with 14 clean sheets).

Despite his exemplary performances between the posts, the Bees fans will have to probably part ways with him. Rather, it is only because of his brilliance with gloves that he has gained interest from big managers like Mauricio Pochettino and Erik Ten Hag.

At 27 years old, Raya still has a promising future ahead. Considering that teams like Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have their first-choice goalkeepers in their 30s, David Raya is seen as a viable contender rather than a secondary option. He would provide stiff competition for the likes of Kepa, David De Gea, and Hugo Lloris for the starting position.

Raya is in his last 12 months of the contract and his unacceptance to sign an extension means that the Bees would like to cash him out before the start of next season. Brentford boss Thomas Frank has confirmed that Raya will not come in cheap and will cost around £40 million.

While Mauricio Pochettino is expected to sign a new goalkeeper with Edouard Mendy and Kepa not fitting into his team courtesy of doubts over their future, Tottenham Hotspur are in search of a long-serving successor to their omnipresent captain Hugo Lloris who is 36 years old now.

Manchester United too are looking for a long-term keeper at their disposal. Despite David De Gea’s Golden Glove performance this season, the Spaniard had erroneous outings because of which the Red Devils are concerned and want a proper alternative available.
