Granit Xhaka is enjoying an incredible run of form for Switzerland and Arsenal, in-fact statistically speaking – he is having his most optimal season. But, there is a strong family support that holds his back and gives him the strength to be himself on the pitch – ofcourse his dad and his brother play a major part in that – but so does, Leonita Lekaj – his lovely wife.

I remember a story from when Arsenal signed Granit Xhaka and he was at London Colney to conclude the final steps of his transfer, and Leonita accompanied him – when speaking about his then girlfriend, he made sure he called her his wife. Leonita Lekaj was born in Tirana, Albania on March 31, 1992 but her parents moved to Pristina, Kosovo. And when she was a teenager, the family moved to Germany. She grew up in a family of four, including her parents and a brother named Leonard Lekaj. As a child, Leonita was always fascinated by fashion and beauty, and she pursued her passion by studying cosmetology in college.
Adriel Lekaj, Leonita’s father, is a retired school teacher, while her mother, Hena Lekaj, was a homemaker.
Leonita first met Granit Xhaka in 2010, when he was playing for German club, Borussia Mönchengladbach. They started dating soon after and have been together ever since.
In 2017, Granit and Leonita tied the knot in a lavish ceremony in their hometown of Pristina. The wedding was attended by family, friends, and a host of fellow footballers, including Xherdan Shaqiri and Valon Behrami.
