Arsenal are confident in the pursuit of Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans ahead of the summer transfer window.
With a number of clubs sniffing around, sensing a possible bargain for players to bolster their squad ahead of the transfer window, the Gunners are keen to secure a move for Tielemans this summer. The Belgian international has just one year remaining on his contract and the Foxes will be hoping to renew his contract or let him leave for a profitable amount this summer.
The midfielder has been an impressive figure for the Foxes since his arrival from Monaco in 2019. Upon his arrival, he won the FA Cup and the Community Shield with Leicester. The Belgian appeared in 120 matches, amassing 18 goals and providing 19 assists during his stint with the club, proving to be one of the most vital members of the team.
The resurgent Gunners have a lot to look forward to for the upcoming season despite losing out on the Champions League spot to local rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Concluding the season with mixed feelings, especially after starting the season on a low to gaining progress eventually, the London-based club has come a long way securing a Europa League position for the next season and have titles to fight for.
Following Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s January exit and the uncertainty of Eddie Nketiah’s future with the club coupled with Lacazette’s move to Lyon this summer, Arteta has a lot to work upon in terms of reinforcing his squad for the next season.
With Albert Sambi Lokonga as the main central midfielder, Arteta is on the lookout for a midfielder who can add depth and provide long passes to create more chances on the pitch. The gaffer is confident to land the Leicester midfielder to the Emirates stadium this summer.
Tielemans is understood to want a move to North London despite them missing out on the Champions League, with the club likely to offer around £25m in the hope of sealing a bargain deal for the established Premier League star.

Manchester United, too seem interested in the Belgian international and are very much in the race to sign him. Considering that the new manager, Erik ten Hag has already admitted to making changes in the club with the intention to bolster the midfield, the pursuit of the Foxes’ midfielder seems like an obvious option for the United manager.
However, ten Hag is also keen to facilitate a move for Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong this summer and this could help the Gunners have an edge over the Red Devils to make a swoop for the Leicester City star. Also, the player’s interest in the North London side could help make things easier for Arteta to secure his move to the Emirates this summer.
While the interest in Tielemans seems certain and the club are confident in signing the player, it still remains to be seen how long before the move eventually happens to the Emirates stadium. The midfield prospect could add a lot to the North London side and could help them compete for titles next season.
