Meanwhile, the club is looking at different options for a set replacement for the outgoing Senegalese star. Several news outlets have said that the Benfica’s Uruguayan striker,  Darwin Nunez, could be a good replacement- given, Jurgen Klopp has been impressed by the youngster.

Other than that, a few more names for a direct replacement have been going around in the rumour mill. We shall wait on it before putting out conclusions, as Liverpool could be in one of the huge transfer windows.

In our main news, however, it is Barca’s flourishing young star- Gavi. The central midfielder is reportedly “unhappy” with Barcelona, due to the fact that the new signings – Kessie & Christensen- were offered higher wages despite joining the club for free. Diario AS, a Spanish news outlet, sees it as an opportunity for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to get one step closer to luring the player if they could just trigger the youngster’s release clause.

Liverpool’s long pursuit of Aurelian Tchouameni, is more than over after the player’s admission to the fact that he wants to join the 14 time UCL winners in Real Madrid. And it does not seem sensible from the fans’ perspective to still hope for a miracle that, the young Monaco midfielder could join Liverpool in the summer- although it is not impossible, but highly unlikely.  So, one of the more substantial move for the club could be to get their attentions on the Barcelona-Gavi case.

In the more trusted reports it is being told that, the Merseyside club is ready to trigger the release clause of the 17-year-old Spanish International. While it is around £42m, Barcelona might have a tough time stopping the potential transfer from happening. Ivan de la Pena, Gavi’s agent, reveals that they have been waiting for good offer from Barcelona, for quite some time now but they have not received anything.

Gavi has been beyond sensational this season, making his move up to the ranks. At just 17, he has shook the La Liga by surprise- scoring twice, and assisting 6 times in the whole season. His contribution expands well beyond those numbers, if you can go and just watch his clips and as to how he lays up plays for his teammates, it is beyond explainable. And emphasizing on his age again, 17! He is for sure going to be a sensation in the years to come, no matter where he plays.

Verdict

This news look more than reliable, it is gathering too much of interest. And it looks as if Liverpool are on to something. After successfully negotiating with Fulham, over the transfer of Fabio Carvalho, this could be another banger of a deal for the Reds. A La Masia graduate coming in and having considerable impact for Xavi’s Barcelona is one of the biggest highlights in Gavi’s CV.  And now, the Gavi news is gathering more substance to it- so it looks a merrier summer for the Kopites.
