Tottenham Hotspur are heavily linked with Torino Defender Gleison Bremer as Antonio Conte looks to bring a new defender to strengthen the defensive line before the start of the next season.
As the reports suggest, Conte has been looking to bring both Gleison Bremer and Wilfred Singo from Torino to Spurs in the upcoming summer transfer window. But it is Bremer that is most in demand and Spurs will have to face very strong competition to buy the centre back. Many top clubs are interested in buying the defender, with one of the names that came to light being Chelsea.
Chelsea’s manager Thomas Tuchel is also looking to find a replacement for their star centre back Antonio Rudiger who’s gonna leave the club in the summer to join the current La Liga champions Real Madrid, and Tuchel finds him as an option for the German.
It is no surprise that the Torino defender Gleison Bremer is in such high demand as he has been the pillar of the Torino defence that has just conceded 38 goals in 37 games this season which is quite exceptional as only the teams in the top four of Serie A have conceded less.
There is certainly an exit coming for Bremer as Torino manager Ivan Jurić admitted in a recent press conference “I think Bremer will leave.”
The only question left is where will the 25-year-old end up. If Tottenham wants to sign the player then they have to move quickly. Spurs are looking as the prime contender to sign the defender as they are likely to play in the Champions League next season if Norwich City does not pull up an upset of the season on Sunday.
Bremer is under contract with Torino until 2024 which means that Torino are in a very strong position. The asking price for the player is reported £41 million which should be a bargain considering the performances he has been putting in this season.
