“Football is nothing without Origi”
Kopites chant after the 27-year-old Belgian scores, off the bench, against Everton yet again! Divock Origi has left an irreversible mark on the Kopites, that they are never going to forget. Since he joined Liverpool back in 2014 from Lille, Divock has came in clutch for the Reds on numerous occasions. Though, the most unforgotten of all will be the 2019 semi-final comeback against Barcelona at Anfield- “Corner taken quickly… Origi!”.
Now, after 8 years, the Belgian has come to a crossroads with Liverpool, as his contract expires in the coming summer. In a bid to play more football, the striker has told the club that instead of signing a new contract he will give a shot elsewhere. Where he is more guaranteed minutes, on the pitch!

What next?
Divock Origi has interested a few buyers in the Premier League, and across Europe. It will be interesting to see where the Belgian lands, as he is no short of talent. Although it did not work out for him at Liverpool, like the way he wanted, but surely he will fit in the new pastures. As emphasised by Jurgen Klopp.
Some of the interested buyers who have been reported on keeping a close tab on the Belgian are – AC Milan and Newcastle are the 2 clubs that are currently in the race to get the services of the Reds’ clutch player.
Meanwhile, the Reds are also said to have been looking at a replacement for their departing Belgian.
The famous Turkish outlet, Fanatik, claim that Liverpool are looking closely at Getafe’s 24-year-old top goalscorer in Enes Unal. The Turkish born has already scored 15 goals in the La Liga for the bottom Spanish club, this season. With Origi leaving, there happens to be a left “void” in the squad.
While many will argue the fact that there is no urgency to buy another striker, given the options of Jota, Firmino, and now even Mane has come into the fore this season as a number 9. Buying another striker will work as a backup for the front 5. However, if the Reds are to buy a striker, then no doubt the former Manchester City striker Unal is the one to look out for.
Not too long ago, after Liverpool’s encounter with Benfica over the two legs in the quarter-finals, there were speculations that Klopp is fond of Nunez and that he might go for the Uruguayan. But surely it is nothing more than a rumour, and going by the price tags the 24-year-old Turkish born will surely be the cheaper option to fit into the scheme of things.
