The story of Jamie Vardy and Rebekah Vardy turned our eyes when the Englishman was destroying the Premier League with Leicester City in 2015/16 and we’ve not looked back since. Anniversaries or controversies – the couple have stuck together and shown a great example of togetherness. Today we will walk a bit into Rebekah Vardy;
Jamie Vardy has been something of a mainstay for Leicester City ever since the Foxes took a gamble on the striker back in 2012 and signed him from Fleetwood Town, who were then a non-league club. Ever since his signing, Vardy has been an absolute rock for the Foxes, scoring on a consistent basis and giving it his all for the club.
The English striker helped the club to promotion from the Championship to the Premier League in his second season there, scoring 16 league goals to help Leicester win the Championship. In his first-ever season in the Premier League in 2014-15, Vardy showed immense class and talent to help Leicester City survive. The 2015-16 season, as everyone knows, has been written into history books.
The Sheffield-born striker led the Foxes to a stunning Premier League title win, scoring 24 goals and forming a devastating partnership with winger Riyad Mahrez. Since then, Vardy has been one of the most consistent strikers in the Premier League and has been Leicester City’s top-scorer every year. He won the Golden Boot in the 2019-20 season, making him the oldest player to win it at 33 years of age. His list of honors also includes an FA Cup title in the 20-21 season, which was also Leicester City’s first-ever FA Cup win.
Unlike his exploits on-field, Vardy has a quiet life off-field. He and his wife Rebekah Vardy have been married for the past 5 years, with the couple tying the knot in May of 2016. They met each other, whilst Rebekah was working as a nightclub promoter back in 2014. Since then, the couple has been together and have been seen supporting each other in their respective fields of work.
The stunning model was born in Norwich, England, but her father is Portuguese, which also makes her a half-Portuguese. She has been very active in charity, supporting the Leicester-based homeless charity ‘Homelessness to Hope’ having officially opened The Hope Centre, and has supported the Jeans for Genes charity campaign.
Rebekah, who now works as a model, has three children with the Leicester City striker, with Sofia (born 2014), Finlay (born 2017), and Olivia Grace (born 2019). The model also has two children, a daughter Megan (born 2005), a son Taylor (born 2010), from her previous relationship with football Luke Foster. She is also a doting stepmother to Ella, Jamie Vardy’s daughter from his previous relationship.
The Norwich-born beauty, recently courted controversy, when she was embroiled in a war of words with England and Man United legend Wayne Rooney’s wife Coleen Rooney. Rooney accused Vardy of leaking private Instagram posts to English tabloid “The Sun”. Rooney stated that she went through an elaborate plan to catch the culprit, and in a series of tweets accused the model of selling stories to the newspaper. However, Rebekah Vardy denied all accusations and claimed that her Instagram account had been hacked. The pair are still reconciling over the fiasco, with Vardy accusing Rooney of libel and suing her in court. Vardy won the first round, and both the WAGs have decided to settle their differences outside of court.
