However, Pape Matar Sarr will be loaned back to Metz after signing for Tottenham Hotspur. Loaning back of the 18-year-old was a precondition of the Metz president before agreeing for the deal.
A number of top clubs across Europe were interested in Senegalese international. Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Manchester United were also interested in him. Bernard Serin, the Metz president was in London a few days ago for the talks. He held talks with numerous clubs at that time. But the deal has been finally made with Tottenham Hotspur.
Pape Matar Sarr joined Metz from the Senegalese club, Génération Foot during last summer. He eventually penned down a five-year deal with Metz. Pape Matar Sarr featured in 25 matches for the French club in Ligue 1 last season. The 18-year-old caught a lot of attention after putting in some brilliant performances in the French top flight.
It is quite unbelievable what Pape is doing at the mere age of 18. The midfielder will only get better with regular football. That is why loaning him back to Metz is a good decision since it is better to play regular football than sitting on the bench or even playing random matches at UEFA Europa Conference League.
While the North London club is creating an exciting team for the future with many youngsters in the mix. The approach that the club has taken in this transfer window is quite commendable and exciting.
