According to various reports, Leeds United winger Helder Costa is attracting interest from many Spanish clubs, especially from Valencia.
Helder Costa joined the Whites on loan in 2019 but made a permanent switch in 2020 after the completion of the loan deal. He was signed from Wolves for £16 million. But the Angolan International largely fell down the pecking order after Leeds signed Raphinha.
Raphinha joined Leeds United last summer from French Side Rennes for £17 million on a four-year contract. He featured 30 times in the Premier League last season and displayed impressive performances. He scored 6 times and assisted 9 times in his debut season.
Raphinha’s form largely cut down Helder’s game time wherein Helder featured for the Whites only 22 times in which he started only 13 times in Premier League last season. He scored 3 times and assisted 3 times.
With Leeds United looking to rope in another attacking option, it might be time up for Helder Costa who could largely be out of favour once a new attacking addition takes place in the squad. Helder has been told by Leeds United that he is free to look at other options as well. Super agent Jorge Mendes is supposedly looking for a new club for Helder.
At the moment Valencia are looking interested with a host of unnamed clubs from Spain. Helder would love the prospect to join Valencia.
While Leeds United most likely would not be able to stump up the valuation they paid for him to Wolves but a fee anywhere nearer to the £10 million mark would be an ideal business for the Whites since many Spanish clubs are under huge financial strain due to pandemic and many other factors like massive debts.
The fee generated from the sale of Helder Costa could also be used to bring new additions at the club which would improvise the squad.
