Tottenham Hotspur have had an embarrassing couple of months. They have been on the lookout for a new manager ever since they fired Jose Mourinho from the hot seat in April. However, Spurs have finally ended their search for a new head coach with the appointment of former Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
Spurs have been linked to a host of names including Antonio Conte, Gennaro Gattuso, Paulo Fonseca, and even a sensational return for Mauricio Pochettino. However, all of them rejected the club leaving Tottenham red-faced. But Santo, who left Wolves at the conclusion of last season has now agreed to a two-year contract with Spurs.
In the past couple of weeks, former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager has been extensively linked with taking the job at Tottenham. He left the manager’s position at Wolves with mutual consent. His hiring brings an end to a managerial crisis at N17 that has lasted more than two months since Mourinho was fired in April.

“When you have a squad with quality and talent, we want to make the fans proud and enjoy,” Nuno told Spurs’ club website. “It’s an enormous pleasure and honour [to be here], there’s joy and I’m happy and looking forward to starting work. We don’t have any days to lose and we must start working immediately as pre-season starts in a few days.”
“First of all, I’d like to welcome Nuno to the club,” said Spurs chairman Daniel Levy. “We should like to thank our supporters for all their patience throughout this process.
“I’ve spoken already about the need to revert back to our core DNA of playing attacking, entertaining football and Fabio and I believe Nuno is the man who can take our talented group of players, embrace our young players coming through and build something special.”

“The brief for this appointment has always been clear, we wanted a head coach that can instil all the values that are important to this football club,” Paratici said.“You only have to look at Nuno’s time at Wolves to see his ability to take a group of players and implement an adaptive style that brings success and allows players to develop and thrive. We are all looking forward to getting started in what we hope will be a successful time with the club.”
Nuno Espirito Santo has proven he is a quality manager, winning the Championship with Wolves in his very first season and promoting them to the Premier League in the process, guiding them to their best-ever finish in the top tier since 1980. He led the team to the quarter-finals of the Europa League and is held in high regard at the Molineux. He would no doubt be a great signing to lead the club.
