In what seems like a brilliant signing, the Borussia Dortmund sensation – Jadon Sancho is edging towards a transfer to Manchester United. The 21-year-old winger has been phenomenal in his stint at Borussia Dortmund after leaving Manchester City for a mere £8 Million in 2017. Manchester United showed some interest in the 21-year-old at that time but it wasn’t concrete enough for securing the deal.

The England international had his breakthrough season at Signal Iduna Park, where he managed to score 12 goals and provided 14 assists thus contributing 26 times in 34 matches for Borussia Dortmund in the German league, Bundesliga. In the last season, his form dipped a bit wherein he managed to find the net 8 times and provided 11 assists in 26 Bundesliga games. Manchester United have been favourites to sign him ever since their interest peaked in the last summer transfer window. Both parties were optimistic over reaching a deal to secure the transfer.

Borussia Dortmund valued Jadon Sancho at whooping £108 million, whereas Manchester United were not interested in paying the hefty amount. Though the personal terms were agreed between Jadon Sancho and the Red Devils, a massive difference in valuation among both the clubs led to a stalemate which kept the sensational player at Dortmund.

But now that Sancho strongly expressed his desire for the move to Old Trafford, and Borussia Dortmund have finally found a middle ground with Manchester United for the transfer. Firstly valued at £108 million by Dortmund, according to various reports both the clubs have come to the conclusion for a fee of £72.9 million. The contract will keep Jadon Sancho at Manchester United until 2026.

With the 15% sell-on clause initiated by Manchester City while selling to Borussia Dortmund, even the blues are to gain from the much-awaited transfer.

The winger would provide the much needed pace in Manchester United’s attack. His pace and skills could drive the Old Trafford side towards much needed improvement in the front. But with England advancing further in the Euro 2020 tournament it might take a little more time for the deal to complete since Jadon Sancho is an integral part of the England Squad. But after the England side’s conclusion in the tournament, Jadon Sancho would arrive at Manchester to complete his medicals.
