United who are already trying to complete deals for big names like Jadon Sancho and defender Raphael Varane, also have an eye on the future and want to sign the 16-year-old who is tipped to be a future superstar.
Ajax has always been favourites to sign the youngster and are still on course to get his signature. However, as with football transfers, there can always be a late twist to the tale. Big clubs hijacking deals at the last minute is not unheard of, and a club like Man United always wants the best players to strengthen their team.
