After making headlines by Nationality switch to Spain, Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte now is very much willing to move to a Spanish club.
Aymeric Laporte signed for Manchester City in January 2018 making a club-record signing from Athletic Bilbao. He soon became a favorite for Pep Guardiola as the Blue team of Manchester enjoyed 3 Premier League titles since then. 2018-19 season was the best for him as Manchester City enjoyed a Domestic treble with Laporte being one of the most crucial players for the team.
However, the 2019/20 season was a big blockage to his development as his sloppy run of games led to him losing his starting spot to John Stones. This season, although City had a successful Premier League title run and also a great run in the Champions League, Laporte only managed 24 starts across all formats.
He made the headlines before the Euros as he announced to play for Spain despite representing France at junior levels. He made the decision after being confirmed that he will not be a natural starter for World Champions and thus made the switch to Spain. Now he looks to connect more with the country as he plans a transfer to one of the Spanish Giants.
According to reports, he has already submitted a transfer request to the Manchester Club and is hopeful to make a switch this summer. Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Athletico Madrid are the three possible destinations for the Spaniard. Few reports claim that he is willing to make a move only to Madrid while some state his fondness for Barcelona. His decision could be well manipulated by the current Spain manager and former Barcelona manager, Luis Enrique.
Manchester City are already looking for his replacement with, his Spanish Centre-back partner, Pau Torres leading the race.
