Carney Chukwuemeka: Aston Villa wonderkid shows a lot of promise

Carney Chukwuemeka, a 17-year-old midfielder who has been tearing it up at his age group and seems to be far superior to most players his age. He has also been an important part of the Aston Villa U-23 squad and is touted for a Premier League appearance for the first team which may very well be realistic looking at how fatigue and injury woes have set in amongst many of the team in the League this season.

The youngster has also been on the radar of clubs like Manchester United and Man City. He is one of the most exciting prospects in English football and his composure on the ball is really great. Carney Chukwuemeka’s ability to use his body to defend the ball and stay strong is another plus point as he can bring it forward and turn defence into attack pretty smoothly.

Chukwuemeka recently got a little more recognition when he scored a hattrick in the FA Youth Cup against Newcastle United as his side ran riot over their opponents. He seems to have lit up the FA Youth Cup with every performance as he made pivotal contributions to the team. Carney Chukwuemeka has scored 6 goals and assisted 2 goals in the cup in his previous 4 matches.

His stats in the Premier League may not be that impressive but he has certainly been dishing it out in the FA Youth Cup along with some of his other mates who have also been gaining the attention of the media. (Louie Barry who scored against Liverpool in the FA Cup is certainly another one of them to watch out for).

Aston Villa is creating quite a name for themselves with a bunch of talented youngsters and the future certainly seems to be bright if they can hold on to all of them.
