Club Football returns this weekend which means it’s time to get those FPL teams ready before the deadline. The international break always forces changes in Fantasy Premier League teams, either forced through injury or just a lack of form that the player has carried on to the national team. This is why this will be the most opportunistic moment for managers to use their wildcard.
Although there haven’t been too many notable injuries during this international break, some teams have seen a change in FDR. With Fixtures becoming much more favorable for some teams, it seems logical to rotate out some of the players.
Let’s take a look at who could and would be a good option for the remaining 9 games of the season. Players that you absolutely need to bring in, players that you might want to bring in after a couple of gameweeks, & players that might be the difference makers in the dying embers of your FPL league.
Things to Consider before you Use your Wildcard:
Planning for Future Gameweeks
Managers might want to look ahead to the coming gameweeks to ensure that they are playing their wildcard at the right time, for some managers playing their wildcard a week later might be much more beneficial depending on the composition of their current team. Leeds United & Aston Villa have a favorable fixture in gameweek 30 but their fixtures get difficult from GW31, so if your team has a lot of players from these teams you’re better off waiting for one more gameweek.
Blank in GW33
There aren’t any confirmed fixtures for GW33, most notably Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur won’t feature. City also don’t have a confirmed fixture for GW32, so planning out the upcoming weeks carefully is very crucial.
Which Teams to Focus on?
Arsenal, Liverpool, Leicester City & Wolves all have a favorable run of fixtures coming up for the Next 5 Gameweeks. Which leaves the questions which players should Managers try to Bring in?
Obvious Picks: Salah (£12.4m), Fernandes (£11.5m), Kane (£11.4m), De Bruyne (£11.9m)

Differentials:
Keiran Tierney: Priced at just £5.3m Keiran Tierney could be a really good defensive option to have, with the increased number of crosses, and the Fullback constantly joining the attack, there is a huge potential reward to be had for someone that is willing to risk going all in with Tierney. Arsenal conceding 3 to West Ham last time out might throw some people off, but the swing in fixtures could see Tierney reap huge points.
Connor Coady (£4.8m): To be perfectly honest, Wolves’ Fixture List is all green in the coming gameweeks, with none of their next 5 fixtures having a FDR of more than 2. Wolves are a very defensively sound side, and their defenders could be good options to have. At £4.8m Connor Coady would be a safer option, with the Fullbacks being frequently changed this season.
Diogo Jota (£6.7m): The surprise star of the early season, Diogo Jota had all but become a permanent fixture in every manager’s FPL team before his injury. Jota was a great budget option that kept delivering points on the regular, the Portuguese has now returned from injury and the international break might bring him back to his best. At £6.7m Jota is well worth the look.
Bukayo Saka (£5.3m): While the big names haven’t delivered for Arsenal this season, their youngsters have certainly stepped up to the plate. Arguably Arsenal’s player of the season, Bukayo Saka is a great shout for inclusion at £5.3m, with the Gunners playing Sheffield United, Fulham, Everton, Newcastle United, & West Bromwich Albion from Gameweek 31 onwards it might be time to risk getting in Saka. Lacazette is also worth consideration.
John Stones (£5.2m): Forming an incredible partnership with Ruben Dias this season John Stones has gone a bit under the radar, but out of the entire City side barring Ederson, Stones would be the one that maintains his spot in the Premier League side.
All of us have at one point or another been a victim of Pep Guardiola’s rotation, so with City still in 4 competitions, it might be a horrible nightmare trying to figure out who Pep will start each week. Stones seems like the only one that would start every game for City, with Dias also a strong contender.
Jesse Lingard (£6.1m): If you haven’t already this is your opportunity to get in Jesse Lingard, after missing out on his points in the first few gameweeks, more FPL managers have since brought Lingard back into their team. The West Ham man also earned an England Call up for his form and at his current price, and his current form, he could be a health risk to take.
Kelechi Iheanacho (£5.7m): The second half of the season has seen some of the forwards struggle, but Iheanacho has been in the form of his life, & at £5.7m he is absolutely worth the risk. The striker has been putting up extraordinary numbers and with Leicester moving into a favorable run of games, Iheanacho could be the difference maker that could help you secure the top spot in your mini League.
