As per reports by Todofichajes, Chelsea are said to have reached an agreement with Jerome Boateng to bring the German defender to Stamford Bridge on a free transfer in the summer.

If these reports are to be believed then the legendary FC Bayern Munich player will be the first signing for the Blues under new head coach Thomas Tuchel.

Boateng has in ‘principle‘ agreed to a switch to Stamford Bridge after his contract at Munich expires at the end of the 2020/21 season. The Spanish news outlet has also said that Boateng’s switch is nothing but confirmed with no hurdles expected in this deal.

Chelsea was looking to sign his Bayern teammate David Alaba as his contract also was due to expire at the end of the year but Alaba’s demands of a monstrous £400,000 per week, were too much for the Blues to fulfill. Now instead they have turned their attention to signing the World Cup winner.

Thomas Tuchel does not have a problem with the club hierarchy’s decision and is welcoming the experience that his countryman is going to provide.

Although Fabrizio Romano gave some contradicting news as related to Jerome Boateng on his podcast @podcastherewego denying claims of any agreement in place. He did second that Jerome Boateng is one of the players Tuchel & Chelsea are looking at for the upcoming summer.
