Lucas Moura was hailed as a hero by the Tottenham fans when his hat-trick helped the club to reach their first-ever UEFA Champions League final.
But things have gone downhill for Moura since. Moura has never managed to start more than 25 league games in a single season. Even this year he has made only four starts of a possible eighteen.
It’s quite telling that the highlight of his 20/21 season has been a free-kick against eighth-tier Marine in the FA Cup. He has been regularly snubbed in the favor of Steven Bergwijn, Moussa Sissoko, and sometimes Harry Winks as Mourinho tries to accommodate in the 4-2-3-1 system.
