Frank Lampard’s job is under scrutiny if reports are to be believed after his side lost to Manchester City last night. The London side was humbled 3-1 by Manchester City and rumours are now emerging that the Chelsea board are considering sacking Lampard after a major drop off in performances since last season and a growingly unsatisfied dressing room.

Here we look at three possible replacements for Frank Lampard if Chelsea does decide to sack arguably their greatest player ever:

Thomas Tuchel

The German has just been relieved of his job as the manager of Paris Saint Germain after taking the French side to the Champions League final last season. Tuchel is no small name in the world of football with his work at Borussia Dortmund still highly respected and he also did a decent job in Paris. He would bring a wealth of experience, attacking football and comradery amongst the squad if he was to be appointed.

Max Allegri

The former Juventus man has been out of a job since leaving the Italian champions and has been patiently waiting for the right project to work on. Inspite of his extended hiatus, Allegri is one of the most sought-after managers in the world and would be a fantastic signing for Chelsea. The Italian is known for getting the best out of his players, instilling a winning mentality within the club and delivering trophies on a regular basis, something which might attract Roman Abramovich.

Brendan Rodgers

The current Leicester City manager is one of the most highly-rated young managers in the Premier League. Rodgers has previously managed Chelsea rivals Liverpool and almost took them to a Premier League title. He then went to Celtic and did an appreciable job there and earned himself another shot at managing in the Premier League with Leicester City. He has since been impressive as Foxes have performed considerably well under him. He knows how to get the best out of his young players and that could come in handy given the number of young players Chelsea squad comprises of.
