“Promote him immediately” was seen all over Twitter and social media as 16-year-old Jude Soonsup-Bell stunned football fans with a poker against Barnsley in the FA Youth Cup. The young Blues showed no mercy towards Barnsley, as they thrashed their opponent 8-1 to reach the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup. Many young performers like Lewis Bate and Tino Anjorin caught the viewers attention, but none more than 16-year-old center forward Jude Soonsup-Bell.
Jude opened the scoring just 2 minutes into the game with a neat finish. For the next two Chelsea goals, The Blues’ three most promising talents combined to put Chelsea 3 goals clear with two wonderful team goals. Bate’s ball over the top, Livramento’s inch perfect cross and Soonsup-Bell as clinical as ever.
Soonsup-Bell scored a first half hattrick but the best was yet to come. He scored an outrageous fourth goal when he dribbled past 4 opponents with amazing footwork, then turned his back towards the goal and still managed to find the back of the net with an exquisite back heel finish.
This way, Jude Soonsup-Bell became the first Chelsea player to score 4 goals in a FA Youth Cup game for Chelsea in 59 years.
This season is Soonsup-Bell’s first at the under 18 level and already has 7 goals in 6 games and he has just started.
