However, a surprising thing has been the exceptional defensive performance by Chelsea in recent weeks. 3rd consecutive PL clean sheet and 6th consecutive clean sheet across all leagues must turn heads of many managers towards the Blues defensive recruitments.

GOALKEEPER
Edouard Mendy – £5.1m
The Senegalese keeper has just turned fortunes for the Blues. He has started 3 games for Chelsea in the PL and is yet to concede any. He has massive 19 points from 3 matches earning 4 points for clean sheet in each match. With a price hike of £0.1m now he is valued at £5.1m and could be a good alternative to Ederson and Alisson who have a bit of difficult fixtures ahead.
DEFENDERS
Reece James – £5.0m
The young English full-back has been great both offensively and in defense for Chelsea. With 31 points from 5 starts this season shows he is a bargain at such price. His attacking threats are the major reason for his selection by many managers as he has already registered a goal and an assist and will be looking to add to his tally with perfect crosses. But his rotation with club captain Azpilicueta could frustrate managers and thus less of selection percentage.
Kurt Zouma – £5.2m
Astonishingly, Zouma has been Chelsea’s highest scorer in FPL this season and this comes with a total of 46 points. He has been part of the defense managing 3 clean sheets and has also netted thrice. Averaging around 8 points a match, he has one of the best forms. With Chelsea looking great on set-pieces this season, he certainly will be one of the favorites to cash on.
Thiago Silva- £5.5m
The Brazilian machine force has been the major boost at the back for the Blues as Chelsea have not conceded any goal in the match where he completed the whole 90 mins. But the solid performance on pitch might not be as useful for FPL managers as he is not much of an attacking threat and the price tag of £5.5m looks hefty for someone whose minutes are to be managed at his age.

Ben Chilwell- £5.9m
English full-back made a switch from Leicester to the Blue side of London this summer but was not expected to perform well so quickly owing to injuries. However, he has performed in every game since his recovery and is lethal at both defense and attack.
Not only he has been the solution to Chelsea’s left back problem but has been putting up dangerous crosses on the other end as well. He has already had 3 goal contributions with 3 clean sheets earning 33 points from just 4 matches. He started with a price tag of £5.5m this season but has seen his price rising each time he has played.
With TAA and Robertson being out of favor for many managers this season, Chilwell is a great alternative. He will look to better his best tally of 118 points from the season 2018/19 with such great start this early in the season. With Ziyech on the opposite flank he will be loving to score on inch perfect crosses. We would recommend to get him in over any other Chelsea player as he is a big match player and could have an impact similar to Liverpool full-backs last season.
