As per reports on Sky Sports, Crystal Palace have joined the growing list of clubs who have been attracted to Liverpool’s youngster Rhian Brewster.
Palace have reportedly taken the lead in the race to sign the 19-year-old forward on loan this summer.
The Eagles are hoping to beat off competition from fellow Premier League side Sheffield United to the loan signing of Rhian Brewster.
Crystal Palace still wants to bolster their attack despite capturing Chelsea’s forward Michy Batshuayi, while Sheffield United remain interested in the starlet, after they’ve had £3 million bid for Arsenal’s youngster Balogun rejected.
Arsenal placed an hefty sum of £15 million on Balogun, which looks to be an unrealistic fee for an unproven starlet.
Rhian Brewster’s loan signing looks to be more achievable by the Blades, hereby, increasing the club’s intent to get the deal done. But as it stands, Crystal Palace are acclaimed to be in the driving seat for his signature.
The youngster had a wonderful loan spell with Championship side Swansea City last season, after joining the Swans during 2020 winter transfer window.
With the Swans, Brewster was reunited with his former England Under-17 head coach Steve Cooper. The understanding of how to get the best out of the youngster became more evident, as Brewster was able to consistently show signs of improvement and maturity throughout his time with Swansea.
Following the relaxation of ban placed on sporting activities due to the Coronavirus pandemic outbreak, the league matches continued from where it stopped and Brewster’s performances still went ahead to be earning praises from his manager and fans.
Brewster scored a brace during the club’s 3-0 win over Middlesbrough, as his goal tally increased to six in 12 appearances. Brewster eventually went on to conclude the campaign by scoring 11 goals in 22 appearances for the Swans.
Joining his parent club (Liverpool) for preseason matches, the youngster never cease to prove his qualities and readiness to make a claim in the first team, as he was busy firing on all cylinder, scoring three goals in just two preseason friendly games.
Coming on from the bench against Salzburg, Brewster scored a brace to earn his team a draw, after they’ve been held back by two goals already. To the delight of his manager Jurgen Klopp, Brewster’s performance was heralded as a complete display of quality, maturity, composure and readiness to prove his worth alongside the famous club favourite attackers like Sadio Mane, Mohammed Salah and Roberto Firmino.
Rhian Brewster currently is on high demand and Jurgen Klopp’s reluctance to let him go out on another loan move as shown the faith the manager has placed on him but still, a season long loan move to get a regular playing time due to his age might look too tempting to ignore by the youngster.
Either to Crystal Palace or Sheffield United, Brewster looks to be ready to hit the ground running in the Premier league this season.
