Chelsea put £26m tag on wantaway full-back Emerson

Chelsea have slapped an asking price of £26m for Italian International Emerson Palmieri, who is deemed surplus to requirement by head coach Frank Lampard.

With reports coming in of a potential deal agreed for Leicester City’s star Ben Chilwell for a tune of £50m, Marco Alonso is set to be Frank’s number two choice.

Serie A club Inter Milan are said to be interested and they believe that they can narrow down the asking price down to £22m. In both cases the West London club are set to profit on their £17.5m they paid to AS Roma in 2018.

Fellow Serie A rivals Juventus and Napoli are said to be interested but Inter lead the race to sign him. The Blues are gathering funds for further investments as potential deals for Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr are said to be completed along with the potential agreement to pay a club record £90m for Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz.

That brings Chelsea’s total investment upto £220m. After making these signing The Blues are looking to sell some assets to make way for new arrivals.

Tiemoue Bakayoko to AC Milan and Michy Batshuayi to Leeds United are the two Chelsea players set to leave this summer. Although with Leeds bringing in Rodrigo, it’s interesting to see where Michy will end up.
