Liverpool’s interest in Thiago Alcantara has become solidified since Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic confirmed the player’s intention to leave the Bavarian side this summer, after their successful league crown.
RMC Sport’s Mohamed Bouhafsi, disclosed that Liverpool have reached an agreement with Thiago on a four-year contract. He also claimed that Thiago has gone ahead to secure a house in Merseyside and he’s already bidding farewell to his Bayern team-mates who have reached the UEFA Champions league semifinal, after demolishing the Catalan side Barcelona, with 8-2 scoreline in a single leg encounter at Lisbon, Portugal.
The former Barcelona academy graduate played an instrumental role against his boyhood club and was involved in ending the Catalan’s dream of progressing to the Semifinal.
Though an agreement is yet to be reached between Liverpool and Bayern over a fee, but that looks to be getting closer than expected, as Bayern’s UEFA Champions league involvement is almost coming to an end, and the German side will be able to focus on the pending deal.
As per reports from German outlet Bild, the Premier League champions had made an ‘official contact’ with Salihamidzic to discuss a transfer move for the Spaniard. The publication also disclosed that should no club be able to meet their valuation of the player, they will gladly allow Thiago to run down the remainder of his contract and leave as a free agent next summer.
The German club are reported to be demanding for £27million for the Spanish midfielder who has just 12months left on his contract at the Allianz Arena.
With his flair and vision, Thiago is believed to be the ideal addition to an interesting Liverpool midfield which lacks the individual brilliance to unlock deep defensive sides.
With Liverpool having already agreed a personal terms with the Spaniard, Jurgen Klopp would be happy to welcome Thiago Alcantara at Anfield this summer.
