Premier League champions Liverpool have reportedly opened talks with Bayern Munich midfielder Thiago Alcantara over a possible switch to England this summer.
The Spain international is set to be keen on a new challenge away from the Bavarian club and the Reds are said to be willing to offer him the opportunity in the Premier League.
Manchester United and Manchester City have also been touted as possible destinations for the 29-year-old but Jurgen Klopp’s side look to have been the first team to have made contacts with the player.
Liverpool are in contact with Bayern Münich for Thiago Alcantara. The player would love to join and Klopp wants him (still working also for Wijnaldum to sign a new contract).

With his flair and vision, Thiago is believed to be the ideal addition to a robust Liverpool midfield which lacks individual brilliance to unlock compact defensive sides at times.
However, the Merseyside club have to reach an agreement with the German club, who are reported to be wanting £27 million for the midfielder who has 12 months left on his current deal at the Allianz Arena.
Per reports from German outlet Bild, the Premier League champions made ‘official contact’ with Bayern sports director Hasan Salihamidzic this week to discuss a transfer for the Spaniard. The publication also add that should no club be able to meet their valuation of the player, Bayern are willing to allow him run down the remainder of his contract and then leave for free next summer.
Klopp is believed to be a huge fan of the former Barcelona midfielder having faced him during his time as manager of Borussia Dortmund.
Whether Liverpool is able to raise funds for the transfer is another problem for the English club who are believed to be coping with the financial havoc caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Thiago is due to feature in Bayern’s Champions League quarter final game against his former side on Friday, as they look to progress to the semi-final where could meet either Manchester City or Olympique Lyon.
