Premier League champions Liverpool are reportedly weighing up the possibility of signing Norwich City left-back Jamal Lewis this summer.
The Reds are looking to strengthen their squad for next season in a bid to try and defend their title and they see the 22-year-old as a worthy competition for Andrew Robertson in the left-back position.
Lewis made 28 appearances for the Canaries in the English top-flight last season, and despite some good signs of impressive football, Norwich were unable to escape relegation.
They drop back to the Sky Bet Championship after only being promoted to the Premier League last season, but their drop could also force them to part ways with many of their star men during the campaign of which the youngster is no exception.
Per the reports from The Independent, Lewis has attracted a lot of attention from many top flight clubs after his displays at the Carrow Road, but Jurgen Klopp’s side look the favourites to poach him in the summer.
The publication also claims that the German manager is looking to bring in the 22-year-old as a back up to his first-choice Robertson who has made the position his own at Anfield in the last two seasons.
The Northern Ireland international’s contract with Norwich runs until the end of the 2022/23 campaign but the club could be forced to sell should they receive the right offer for him this summer.
He is believed to be valued in the region of £10 million and that could motivate the Merseyside club to consider making a bid in the coming weeks.
Liverpool have done business in the summer already after offloading Dejan Lovren, who moved to Zenit Saint Petersburg last month and also rumoured to be close to wrapping up a £9 million deal with Real Betis for centre-back Aissa Mandi.
