With Angel Gomes having already left Manchester United as his contract at the Old Trafford ran down and is in hope of finding a new club where he could get regular game time.

There were rumours last week that French side Lille were taking an interest in Angel Gomes and RMC Sport Loïc Tanzi, claimed earlier this week that Lille ‘appreciate’ his profile and could make a move to bring him to France in the near future.

French news outlet, La Voix du Nord report that Lille OSC absolutely want to bring 19-year-old to Hauts-de-France, with clubs technical director Luis Campos ‘doing everything’ to convince him to consider Les Dogues as his next destination.

Angel Gomes has been hyped since a very young age at United, although the 19-year-old never managed to find his feet running for the Reds from Manchester, instead watching the likes of Mason Greenwood and Brandon Williams thrives.

Gomes has only made 10 appearances for the club in all competitions and his frustration over lack of game time made him consider his future.

Manchester United’s Head of Academy Nicky Butt in 2018 talked about the versatility of Gomes, “Angel has got the ability to play pretty much anywhere. He’s a footballer so everyone automatically thinks he’s an attacker but we like him in the pivot role to set up play and get the ball moving. He keeps possession and, in European football, keeping the ball is massive. If you don’t keep possession in the middle of the park, it’s going to be a struggle.”
