Premier League champions Liverpool will travel to Newcastle tomorrow in their last game of the PL season.

The Magpies are 13th in the league table with 44 points. They have won just one game from their last eight PL matches. They drew their last game against Brighton and lost three consecutive games prior to that game. They can’t finish higher than 13th this season but a win tomorrow would take their tally to 47 – highest PL points since 2013-14 season.

Liverpool lifted the Premier League trophy for the first time after winning 5-3 against Lampard at Anfield. They got the opportunity to lift it on the Kop stand earlier this week. They have 96 points from their season with one game remaining. The Reds are also the best defensive side in the Premier League this season as they have conceded the least no. of goals (32). They are 18 points ahead of 2nd placed Manchester City and will be looking forward to winning all three points in their last game of the season.

The Magpies have played eight games since the PL’s restart in June. They have won twice and lost thrice since then. They were thrashed at the Etihad as they conceded five goals earlier this month. They lost two more games against Watford and Tottenham and drew against Brighton earlier this week.

Liverpool – (W-W-D-L-W)

The Reds have played eight Premier League games since the restart. They have won four times since resumption and have lost twice. They succumbed to defeat at the Emirates as two defensive errors cost prevented them from winning 100 points this season. They won a high scoring game at Anfield as they won 5-3 against Lampard’s Chelsea.

Steve Bruce is facing an injury crisis at the moment as Jamaal Lascelles, Fabian Schar, Ciaran Clark, Paul Dummett and Florian Lejeune are all sidelined from the last game of the season. According to reports, Emil Krafth is also doubtful for the game due to an ankle problem. Longstaff and Hayden will also undergo fitness tests ahead of the game.

Liverpool will be without FWA Footballer of the Year winner Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip for the final game of the season. Lovren and Lallana are set to leave the Reds after the season and could bag a final appearance against Newcastle.
