Manchester United have reportedly made a ‘take it or leave it’ offer to Borussia Dortmund for winger Jadon Sancho.
The Red Devils are believed to be unwilling to meet the German club’s valuation of the England international and are only willing to offer a fee in the region of £80 million to Dortmund.
The 20-year-old continues to heavily linked to a move to back to the Premier League with United said to be heavy favourites to land him in the summer transfer window, but the expected impact of the coronavirus pandemic is likely to ‘mess’ with the finances of many clubs.
The Black and Yellows value Sancho in excess of £100 million and are said not to consider anything less for their youngster. However, they could be forced to reconsider their stance on the player’s valuation with United expected to table a break or lose offer to Lucien Favre’s side in the coming weeks.
Per reports from the Daily Star, Ed Woodward, who is the executive vice chairman at Old Trafford is refusing to fork out anything above £80 million for the BVB playmaker in the summer, but is certain the approach from the club would be received by the Bundesliga outfit.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is seen to be building a long term plan at Man United with the kind of signings he has made into the first team so far and sees the England international as a key part of his rebuilding process ahead of the 2020/21 season.
Any chase of the playmaker is likely to depend on the club securing a place in the top four which will see them play in the Champions League after missing out this season.
Dortmund have already snapped up Jude Bellingham from under the noses of Manchester United but the latter are looking to get the better of BVB in their pursuit of Sancho.
