Arsenal are reportedly weighing up a move for Espanyol midfielder Marc Roca ahead of this summer’s transfer window.
Having suffered a poor 2019/20 campaign which saw the Spanish club relegated into the Segunda Division last week, Roca is expected to leave the team ahead of the 2020/21 season.
Roca had been previously watched by German Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, but a move to Germany seem out of the question now considering Hansi Flick’s many options in the midfield department.
However, football.london reports that the Gunners are also considering in the 23-year-old into the team ahead of next season.
Mikel Arteta is said to be weighing up his options in the middle of the park ahead of the summer, and adding Roca would be a boost for him and improve his midfield.
The former Spain Under-21 is believed to have a release clause of £35.8 million in his current deal with the White and Blues, but could be allowed to leave for less than that following their shocking relegation from the Spanish top flight.
The central midfielder has been involved in five goals in 41 appearances across all competitions at the RCDE Stadium in the current season, where he has scored two times while providing three assists for Espanyol.
