Recent Form

Watford – (D L L L W)

Danny Welbeck’s heroics helped Nigel Pearson’s side pick up the three points against the Canaries in a hard fought match, ending their six-match winless run. Three successive losses against Burnley, Southampton and Chelsea had left the Hornet’s in 17th, but the win on Tuesday has given them a three-point buffer over the bottom three.

Newcastle United – (W D W D L)

Newcastle notched up impressive wins against Sheffield and Bournemouth, but were thrashed by a huge margin by Manchester City.

With just four games left in the league, Newcastle will be aiming to surpass last season’s tally and target a finish in the top half of the table.

They were unbeaten in their last six league outings before Wednesday, and will be looking to pick up a victory over a Watford side that has been largely inconsistent this season.
