According to a report from Le10 Sport, Chelsea are believed to have opened talks with Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s representatives regarding a potential summer move to Stamford bridge.

Lazio are said to be demanding a transfer fee of £80million for the Serbian international midfielder, but to smoothen the deal, former Chelsea and ex-France international midfielder Claude Makelele is reportedly involved in the discussions which might prove to be a vital contribution in favour of Chelsea.

Chelsea have proven their willingness to be ruthless in transfer deals by sorting out their priorities which has resulted in the signings of RB Leipzig’s goal machine Timo Werner and Ajax winger Hakim Ziyach. They’ve been rumoured to be after Leicester’s left back to replace Alonso and Emerson who’s expected to leave Chelsea this summer, while Leverkusen’s playmaker Kai Havertz has caught the eye of Chelsea’s manager Frank Lampard and a summer move looks likely according to some report from Germany.

The Blues looks to be more stocked in the midfield with quality players like Loftus-Cheeks, Gilmour, Barkley, Kovacic, Mason Mount and N’golo Kante, who are all struggling for a regular playing time under manager Frank Lampard. Though rotations and injuries will still set in, which will give opportunities to others but notwithstanding, their likely involvement in European competition next summer will prompt Chelsea to add more quality depth in their midfield.

Milinkovic-Savic

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has long being of interest to top clubs in Europe since forging a reputation for himself in Lazio. His style of play have been compared to France international midfielder Paul Pogba due to their similar traits and position.

He is an all-round midfielder who’s able to play any position across the midfield effortlessly. He’s capable of blending attacking movement, positional sense and finishing ability of an attacking midfielder conjoined with the height and physicality of a defensive midfielder or a target man.

His sublime techniques, technical skills, vision and passing, tenacity and tireless work-rate enables him to help out at both ends of the pitch coupled with his positioning and intelligent runs.

The Serbian international cost Lazio around €18 million in 2015 but his market value has risen tremendously, with his price-tag set to be around €120 million according to French sport outlet FootMercato.

He had a bid of £54 million from French Champions PSG being offered, which is way obviously below his valuation. With PSG making their first bid for Milinkovic-Savic, a biding war looks likely to occur between PSG and Chelsea.

With Chelsea’s recruitment team springing up surprises with two signings already, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic might soon be their third signing.
