Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed that he has ‘long term’ ambitions with the Toffees and doesn’t want a short term stay with them.
Carlo Ancelotti signed for Everton in December last year and replaced Marco Silva who was sacked due to poor performances after the derby loss against Liverpool. Ancelotti arrived and pulled the Toffees out of the relegation zone. Everton now have 41 points from 31 games and are placed 12th in the table, just four points behind 7th placed Tottenham Hotspur.
Ancelotti has signed a four-and-a-half-year contract at the Merseyside club which will end at the end of the 2023-24 season. The Toffees would move to a new stadium by then.
“I will carry on coaching as long as I find a club that will give me that possibility,” Ancelotti told Sky Sports. “That’s the basis of everything, there are two conditions: that you want to coach and you find someone that lets you coach.
“Clubs continue to give me that possibility, so as long as there are these two conditions I will carry on coaching.
“I can’t tell you now if Everton will be the last team [I’ll coach], certainly I would like to carry out a long-term project with this club, not a short or medium-term one.”
Everton have some tough fixtures ahead in the Premier League and face many top 10 sides. They face Leicester and Tottenham next in the league and are yet to face Wolves and Sheffield in the second half of the Premier League campaign.
