Carlo Ancelotti has ignored the rivalry between Everton and Liverpool to praise Jurgen Klopp for building a ‘perfect machine’ at Anfield.

The Reds are in jubilant mood having secured their first league title in 30 years on Thursday with seven matches more to go.

In 31 games played all season, Klopp’s side have only lost seven points, with 86 points taken all season. And Ancelotti, whose side have not won the league in 33 years, heaped praises on the German manager.

Ancelotti told Sky Sport Italia: “I have a great relationship with him. We met last week when everything was virtually decided and I congratulated him.

“Klopp is the architect of this success. Not only for this victory in the Premier League, but for everything he’s managed to achieve since arriving five years ago. With patience, he’s succeeded in building a perfect machine.”

The Everton boss also said he was able to hear where the Premier League trophy was heading to after hearing celebrations when Manchester City were beaten Chelsea on Thursday.

Ancelotti said: “It’s more like how does he [Klopp] sleep! There were a few bangs last night after Manchester City’s game.

“It got much calmer later on as I live on the outskirts, but anyway Liverpool were waiting for this victory for a lot of time so it’s normal that they celebrated the way they did even with all the restrictions that continue being in place. My neighbour is [Georginio] Wijnaldum! But they ended up celebrating somewhere else.”
