Chelsea wingers Willian and Pedro have agreed on a new short-term deal with the Blues on the deadline day for agreeing these short-term deals.

Today is June 23 and it is the last day for clubs to agree on new short-term deals with players who will be out of contract at the end of this month. This will lead to free agents completing the season with their clubs. After weeks of negotiations, Chelsea and the duo have come to an agreement of signing a new short-term contract.

According to Matt Law of the Telegraph, neither Willian nor Pedro is looking forward to signing a new long term contract at the club and are keen on leaving at the end of the season. Willian always said that he wants to finish the season with the Blues. However, according to several reports, Pedro didn’t want to continue after June and was very close to joining AS Roma next month.

After weeks of discussion with Marina and Lampard, both players came to a conclusion and will now finish the season at the Stamford Bridge. Now both players will be available for Lampard to pick for the remaining fixtures in their chase for the Champions League spot.

Willian has been a key member of Lampard’s squad this season and has started 22 PL games. It was reported that Willian was offered an extension but the Brazilian wanted one more year from the offer. Pedro has started just eight games this season and clearly knows that he isn’t in the manager’s plans for the next season.
