Leicester City host Brighton & Hove Albion in the first game of Premier League Round 31 at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday.
Leicester City are third in the Premier League table with 54 points from 30 games and are very likely to make it to the Champions League next season. Visitors Brighton, on the other hand, have just 32 points from 30 games so far. They are just four points above Watford who are fighting to stay up.
Brighton defeated Arsenal with a 95th-minute winner from Maupey and that has kept them five points clear of the relegation zone. Another win would lift them further away from the relegation zone. Aaron Mooy is very likely to miss the game after sustaining an ankle injury against Arsenal, leading to his half-time substitution. Solly March could feature in the line-up to replace Mooy.
Here’s my Brighton predicted XI (4-2-3-1) vs Leicester City.
Goalkeeper
Mathew Ryan remains the number one choice for Graham Potter this season and will surely start on Tuesday. He has six clean sheets in the Premier League this season and has made 97 saves in 30 games as well.
Defenders
Martin Montoya has been the first choice right-back under Potter this season. But Ezequiel Schelotto started ahead of the Spaniard against Arsenal is very likely to start against Leicester as well. Schelotto has featured eight times in the Premier League this season. He has a tackle success rate of 75% and we predict him to start this weekend.
At the left-back position, Daniel Burn gets the nod as usual. He has started 26 Premier League games under Potter. He has been an important part of the Seagulls squad since coming back from two loan spells in January 2019.
28-year-old Lewis Dunk and Adam Webster are expected to start as the centre-back duo alongside Schelotto and Burn. The centre-back duo has been Potter’s most preferred defensive duo this season.
Midfielders
Yves Bissouma and Davy Propper will start as the two pivots in the double pivot formation Potter will very likely deploy. Bissouma is more defensive-minded and he will allow Propper to move forward and help out the attackers.
Pascal Gross, Solly March and Leandro Trossard will start ahead of the pivots and behind the striker. Gross and Trossard will start on the left and right wide-midfield positions with Solly taking up the number 10 role in between them instead of Mooy, who is likely to miss the game.
Forward
Neal Maupay made the headlines after scoring the winner at home against the Gunners on Saturday. He was also involved in a collision with Leno that injured the German shot-stopper. He will again start against the Foxes at the King Power Stadium. The French striker has scored nine goals for the Seagulls this season so far.
