Newcastle recorded a win against Southampton to end their four games winless run before the break.
Bruce’s side have been impressive at home with an enviable defensive record, having secured a clean sheet in their previous three fixtures at the St James’ Park prior to the enforced break.
They are known to put up a solid defence at home which could make it difficult for Sheffield, who also lack the attacking edge to penetrate easily.
